Rev. Pete House, Jr. was born in Somerset, MD to the late Clytee Strong and Pete
House, Sr. He was educated in the Leflore County, MS school system. He
graduated from MVSU in 1981 with a BA Degree in History. After graduating from
college, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served his country for 20 years,
traveling extensively throughout the US and abroad. He retired in 2001 with an
Honorable Discharge and settled in the Southern MD area.
Rev. House has been an active and dedicated member of St. Mark UAME Church,
Valley Lee, MD for the past 17 years where he served under the pastorate of Rev.
Dr. Rudy C. Brooks, Rev. Rovonzo Brown, Rev. Andrew Fulton, Sr. (his mentor
and spiritual father) and Bishop Linwood Rideout III-Retired.
He acknowledged his desire to preach and teach the Gospel and humbly accepted
his calling during Annual Conference in May of 2012. In June of 2013, he preached
his trial sermon at St. Mark. He enrolled in Boulden Seminary and went on to
earn his Bachelor of Theology Degree in December of 2016.
Rev. House was appointed as Interim Pastor of St. Mark on October 7, 2018 by
Bishop Rideout. He was appointed as Bishop’s Marshall by Bishop Charles Amos.
He is also the Vice President of the Christian Fellowship of St. Mary’s County, MD.
Rev. House is married to his high school sweetheart, Doretha. He’s a father of one,
a grandfather, a great grand father and a God father. He is employed by DynCorp
Int’l, Pax River, MD. His pastimes includes watching television, listening to music
Rev. House loves the Lord and is dedicated to learning, studying, teaching and
preaching the Word of God to God’s people. He boldly serves the Lord and his
main purpose in life is to give all the glory, honor and praise to Almighty God.
